How to delete your Instagram account permanently?

If you think you don't need your Instagram Account any longer, you can go on Deactivating or Deleting it permanently.

If you deactivate it, you can re-activate it anytime by logging in to that account by entering correct Username and Password or Logging in with Facebook. But, if you delete your account, you will never be able to login to that account. And you cannot use the same username of the deleted Instagram Account to your other accounts. Once you delete your Instagram account, everything on your account will be removed including your profile, messages, posts, photos, likes, comments, followers and username. In short, Deactivating is reversible whereas Deleting is irreversible action.

Prerequisite to delete your account:

1. You must be sure that your account will be permanently deleted, so, you will not need the account or the username of the account you are going to delete.
2. You must know the Username and Password of the account you are going to delete.
3. You cannot delete your account with Instagram app, so, you need to be logged into Instagram with your browser in Mobile or PC.

Steps to delete your Instagram Account:

1. To delete your Instagram Account permanently, Click Here to go to the Account Deletion Page. If you are not logged into Instagram on your browser, you will go login page, else you will come to this window after you open the link:
   

   Check the username wheather it is the account you are going to delete or not.

   
2. Choose click on the dropdown menu and choose a reason why you are going to delete your account.
   
3. After you select an option, there appears a field to enter password. You must enter your password to delete your account. If you don't know your password or have forgotten your password, you can't delete your account. So, enter a correct password.
   
4. After Entering your password, click on Permanently delete my account button.
   
5. After pressing the button, it will give you last warning, whether are you sure want to delete your account. Click on OK.
   
6. After you press OK, your Instagram Account will deleted permanently.
